I don't know how I missed this news, but I just became aware of the passing of this great man today. Here is link to the announcement that appeared in First Things.

We do not grieve as those who have no hope.

Tony Snow, 1955-2008

Former White House press secretary, journalist, columnist, political commentator, and all-around good guy Tony Snow lost his battle with cancer early this morning. My condolences to his wife, children and friends. There are many people in this world that I'm glad I don't know. There are very few people that I wish I had known. Tony Snow, in my book, you're one of the few.

Read the details here.  Harvey Korman was best known for his work as the "straight man" on the Carol Burnett Show and as the dastardly Hedley Lamarr in the film Blazing Saddles. Here are a couple samples of his work:

Frodo Baggins Euthanised

The thoroughbred Frodo Baggins was euthanised after suffering serious injuries in a Kentucky equine event. Also seriously injured in the accident was the rider, Laine Ashker.

Frodo Baggins was best known from film The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. The horse was used in the "Escape Off the Road" scene where the four hobbits hide under the roots of a tree as a Black Rider rides up.
